Australian Mathematics Competition (AMC) - Junior Level

Dear Sec 1 students, 

You will be taking part in the Australian Mathematics Competition in July/ August 2015. More details will be given closer to the date. 

Australian Mathematics Competition is an annual event for students from Primary, Secondary and Pre-University levels and serves to introduce students to various Mathematical Olympiad type questions to help foster critical thinking and creative problem solving skills within a competition format.

Attached is the Australian Mathematics Competition 2014 paper (junior) for you to practise and prepare for the competition.

Reminder on SPM

All parents are reminded to attend the School Parent Meeting (SPM) on 21 May 2015 (Thursday). Kindly arrive a few minutes before your designated sort. Please arrive at the Indoor Sports Hall (Block D Level 1) and register at the registration booth for Secondary One. Students will not have lessons on that day.

Please note that school term will end on 29 May 2015 (Friday). You are still required to come to school on Term 2 Week 10 unless you have GCP trips. For any other reasons, please inform your Form teacher. A parents letter is required. (You should not go overseas as it is still normal school). School Term will officially start on 29 June 2015 (Monday). Please report to school by 8.40am at the Indoor Sports Hall (Block D Level 1). Please clear out your locker before school ends.

Collection of Class Fund for May and June

Dear 107,

As requested by Kailun, we will be collecting $6 per person for the class funds for May and June. We had made a slight change in the amount to pay for June as there will be no lessons but there are a lot of people's birthday falling on June. The collection will open from 11 May 2015, Monday to 15 May 2015, Friday. Please remember to hand the $6 to Kailun and remind him to record the transition down.

              Choose a script with the best answer in your groups for the Animal Farm comprehension passage to be submitted by next Monday

Math: Complete questions 1 and 2 for worksheet 9.2 if you haven't done so

Others: Please wear your school uniform tomorrow. You just have to bring writing materials and a notebook.

There will be a familiarisation of cheerleading moves and steps by your House Representatives, to lead up to your actual performance on SST 6th Annual Track & Field on Friday, 22 May! 

You can introduce House Cheers to your House Leaders as well so your House can shout it out together!

Each student who performs at the Track & Field earns the House 1 participation point (minimum 3 students per level up to a maximum of 20 students).

In addition, points will be awarded for the following:

  2. Cheerleading Display
  3. House Cheers
