PUBLIC WARNING SYSTEM
The Public Warning System (PWS) is a network of sirens that the SCDF has placed at strategic points throughout the island. The purpose of this system is to warn the public of imminent threats that could endanger lives and property.
*The SCDF has sounded the “Important Message” signal through the island-wide network of Public Warning System (PWS) sirens on Sunday, 15 February 2015 at 6.20 pm, in support of Total Defence (TD) Day.
Members of the public are advised not to be alarmed by the minute-long sounding exercise. When the signal is sounded, members of the public can immediately tune in to any local radio station or click on the links below for a brief message on the PWS.
